Vice President Hamid Ansari is being slammed in the social media for not saluting the TriColor during the flag hoisting ceremony. The criticism started with the picture showing all the dignitaries ie:- Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar saluting the tricolor and Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari ,US president Barack Obama and Michelle Obama standing idle.

While there were lots of tweets questioning him about the matter,some tweets even called him a Turkish immigrant and Many even connected this incident to his religion.Many tweets also came in his support stating that it is not mandatory to salute the national flag and he even gave respect to the national flag by standing up when national anthem was being played.Ansari along with an Indian Delegation will go to Riyadh for attending Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud funeral who passed away on Friday.
