The Supreme Court in a decision today gave clean chit to N Srinivasan and didn't found him guilty in the IPL fixing case. However Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra were found involved in betting during the tournment. The apex court in his judgment said Srinivasan and any other officials cannot contest for elections for any post in BCCI till they have any sort of commercial interests.
This means Srinivasan cannot take part in the BCCI elections to be conducted six weeks from now till he sideline himself from any such commercial interests. The court set up a three member committee headed by the ex-chief justice of India R M Lodha to decide punishments for Raj Kundra and Gurunath Meiyappan. The court said functions of the BCCI comes under the public domain and it is governed by the judicial law.
